Today we read of Jesus being greater than even Moses. This will play out further later. In vv. 5-6 we read that Moses was faithful as a servant, but Christ is faithful over God’s house as a son! Now the question is, What is God’s house? We see the writer answers that in v. 6, “And we are his house, if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope.” This is really amazing in that we are exhorted to “hold fast” but yet we read that it is really Christ who is faithful over us. Now this doesn’t mean, because Christ is faithful, we can be reckless in our lives. No, we need to seek to be faithful, recognizing the deceitfulness of sin is ever lurking and seeking to harden our hearts. Listen to the voice of God today through His word and allow your heart to overflow with thankfulness and praise for He has said, “Today if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”
