Going Deeper:
1. What does Jeremiah 1:5 mean for Jeremiah? What does it mean for you? 2. Read 2 Kings 19:27. This is a prophecy against Senacharib, King of Assyria to Hezekiah, King of Israel. It shows that God not only knows His people but also knows the enemies of God’s people. How should this bring comfort and assurance to God’s people. 3. We need to depend on God to lead us. Read these verses and explain how they are important in this process. John 17:17; Proverbs 3:5-8; Psalm 119:9-16. 4. In the life of David, we see how God was faithful to him and how David could trust the Lord for wisdom and guidance. Ultimately God would bless David with a covenant in 2 Samuel 7:8-14. Read this covenant God made with David. Especially consider vv. 12-13. Who here is the “offspring” God is talking about? Why was it important for David to always trust the Lord’s leading? Why is it important for us to trust the Lord’s leading?
